We've known that McLaren has a pair of additional models in the works, including a Porsche 911-fighting, 12C-based sports car known only as the P13 and another car positioned between the 12C and the P1. Previously, we'd heard the code name “P15” tossed around in reference to that latter car, but McLaren has officially christened it the 650S ahead of its world debut at the upcoming Geneva motor show. According to the automaker, the 650S “takes learnings from both the 12C as well as the sell-out McLaren P1 [ed note: there has to be a better way to say that] and will be positioned between the two on McLaren Automotive's supercar grid.“

JAGUAR will have a major presence at the sell-out 2014 Goodwood Revival, with the Lightweight E-type making its European debut at the event, while the firm’s new F-Type Project 7 will be on show in the Earls Court Motor Show-themed exhibition. The 60th anniversary of the legendary D-type will be marked in style at Goodwood. On Saturday 12 September, the Lavant Cup race will be dedicated to the D-type with more than 20 examples of this legendary competition car competing in the first-ever motor race devoted entirely to the D-type.
Drayson Racing has launched a contest with the Royal College of Art's Vehicle Design program to design electric racing car concepts for the FIA's new Formula E series, which is set to start in 2014. The RCA's students are asked to present designs that explore new themes within the technical constraints as part of this course's curriculum. The previous Drayson Formula E concept was developed by Sergio Rinland who will be part of a series of workshops and lectures on aerodynamics, engineering packaging, production engineering and materials, giving students the technical knowledge to develop their designs.
